Begins preliminary vote on the election of the President of Turkmenistan

With the purpose of well-organized conduct of the elections of the President of Turkmenistan held on February 12, 2017, creating opportunities in ensuring the right of citizens of Turkmenistan to participate in the elections, in accordance with article 26, the Central Commission for elections and referenda in Turkmenistan adopted the resolution.

According to the resolution, a preliminary vote in the elections of the President of Turkmenistan begins February 2, 2017. A preliminary vote is held daily from 08:00 to 18:00.

According to article 73 of the Electoral code of Turkmenistan, the voter who has no opportunity to be in on Election Day at the place of residence shall be early entitled to vote at the polling station. Early voting can be conducted at the polling station for ten days before the election.
