The CIS observation mission continues monitoring of the election of the President of Turkmenistan

The mission of observers from the Commonwealth of Independent States continues to monitor the elections of the President of Turkmenistan.

According to the election headquarters’ mission, within the observation of the Presidential Elections, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee - CIS Executive Secretary V.Guminskogo met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan V.Hajiev.

A meeting addressed the issues related to the electoral process, as well as the organization of work connected with the CIS Observation Mission. At the same time, as V.Hajiev stressed, the Foreign Ministry will continue to facilitate the work of international observers within the framework of national legislation, pointing out that the provision of open and transparent elections, during which all the principles of democracy are observed, is one of the most important objectives for Turkmenistan.

Compliance with the legislation of nominating and registering candidates for the President of Turkmenistan, as well as the ongoing pre-election campaign was discussed during a meeting with an authorized representative of candidates for Presidential candidate Annanepesov. During a meeting, they told that the election campaign is open and transparent, taking into account the requirements of current legislation.
